Photo Credit: Anthony Grote\/<br \/>Gameplan Media<\/span><br \/>As many look to unwind at the end of another long year and ease into the festive season, the Sharks Trail Adventure\u2019s versatile programme \u2013 which consists of 40km, 20km, 10km Family Ride and 2km Sharkie Ride events as well as 18km and 9km trail running options \u2013 ensures that the event caters for athletes of all abilities.<\/p>\n<p>Pristine purpose-cut and natural trails, breath-taking views, beautiful scenery, river crossings and a vibrant festive season atmosphere have become synonymous with this event, which is the last off-road exploration for 2016 for many athletes.<\/p>\n<p>After crossing the finish line and successfully conquering the day\u2019s various trail activities, participants can look forward to joining their supporters, friends and family for the rest of the event\u2019s many entertainment and lifestyle offerings.<\/p>\n<p>The attendance of the full Cell C Sharks squad \u2013 who will be manning the trail events\u2019 various water tables and handing out finishers medals before signing autographs, mingling with fans and posing for photographs \u2013 gives Sharks supporters a rare opportunity to come shoulder-to-shoulder with their rugby heroes.<\/p>\n<p>The popular mascot Sharkie will also be there on the day and will even accompany the next generation of cycling stars on their mid-morning 2km Sharkie Kids Ride while also sure to be the cause of much his trademark mischief during the course of the day.<\/p>\n<p>An exclusive Sunday staging of the renowned Shongweni Farmers Market, set against the magnificent backdrop of the Summerveld Estate, is another of the Sharks Trail Adventure\u2019s many attractions with participants, spectators and members of the community welcome to explore the huge variety of stallholders offerings.<\/p>\n<p>Numerous artisan food and beverage stalls will keep visitors well fed and watered as they browse local crafters\u2019 various handmade crafts and Christmas offerings while soaking up the easy-listening strummings of some of the province\u2019s top musical talent.<\/p>\n<p>Once the race village\u2019s attractions have all been discovered, attendees are encouraged to enjoy the rest of the day by laying out a blanket in the cool shade of Summerveld\u2019s age-old trees, unpack a picnic lunch or light up a braai, and ease into the festive season with family and friends.<\/p>\n<p>A Silverback Stride 20, courtesy of Cyclesphere Cycling, and various other giveaways will be up for grabs on the day as well.<\/p>\n<p>The 2016 STIHL Sharks Trail Adventure takes place at Summverld Estate in Shongweni on Sunday 4 December.
