Many a rider has been saved from an unfortunate DNF by the helping hands of the mechanics at the tech zones, where they stock spare parts and generally help riders. Cape Epic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Now the tech zones are going to be even more sought after: renowned bike and gear manufacturer Scott Sports has come on board the Absa Cape Epic as the Untamed African MTB race\u2019s official Tech Zone Partner.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is great news,\u201d said Absa Cape Epic commercial manager Brett Sparg. \u201cScott Sports is a world-leading mountain bike brand and will bring that excellence and commitment to the tech zones. We will be providing a complimentary basic support service zone at each race village on the main field for all Scott riders throughout the event.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Scott has a long history of sponsoring leading competitors in the Absa Cape Epic. In 2017 Olympic gold medallist and World Champion Nino Schurter, a longtime member of the Scott team, will be aiming to add his first Cape Epic triumph to his many successes.
