{"id":17315,"date":"2016-12-01T12:15:00","date_gmt":"2016-12-01T12:15:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bikehub.co.za\/news\/2016\/12\/01\/madida-and-eggar-excel-at-wcc-sui-r5892\/"},"modified":"2023-02-08T07:24:31","modified_gmt":"2023-02-08T07:24:31","slug":"madida-and-eggar-excel-at-wcc-sui-r5892","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bikehub.co.za\/news\/madida-and-eggar-excel-at-wcc-sui-r5892\/","title":{"rendered":"Madida and Eggar excel at WCC (SUI)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two of KwaZulu-Natal\u2019s great junior BMX enthusiasts, Manqoba Madida and Dylan Eggar, recently took part in a BMX training camp identifying young talent from around the world, at the UCI World Cycling Centre (WCC) in Switzerland from 10-22 October.<\/p>\n<div style=\"\">\n<a class=\"ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image\" href=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-58780-0-26642600-1480594677.jpg\" data-fileid=\"852141\" data-fileext=\"jpg\" rel=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-fileid=\"852141\" class=\"ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed\" alt=\"ccs-58780-0-26642600-1480594677.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-58780-0-26642600-1480594677.jpg\"><\/a><span class=\"italic text-sm text-slate-500 block mt-1 mb-4\">Manqoba Madida (left) and Dylan Eggar (right) took part in a BMX training camp identifying young talent around the world at the World Cycling Centre in Aigle, Switzerland from 10-22 October.<\/span>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cEverything went very well for us over there,\u201d said Madida. \u201cWe had such great times. We did our best and they enjoyed having us there,\u201d he added.<br \/>Madida also mentioned that he hoped he had made everyone else back home happy and proud.<\/p>\n<p>On the experience as a whole, Madida said: \u201cThe experience was amazing. The way that they live there \u2013 what they do, eat, all of it. The whole experience made being away from home, friends and family much easier.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>WCC Coach Thomas Allier mentioned in Madida\u2019s report that was very strong, and has the potential and ability to thrive one day at Elite level.<\/p>\n<p>Eggar said: \u201cTo start off I was really nervous about this whole trip, but inside I was always excited. I got to make friends with people from all over the world and I learned new things everyday I was there. It was awesome!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He also mentioned that is now able to push himself harder on the track. \u201cI pushed my self so far out of my comfort zone and it ended up improving my overall performance on the track and in the gym,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Eggar hopes to travel more next year, and take part in American and European races. \u201cI want to keep pushing myself and never give up. Next year is my year,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n<p>Feedback from Eggar\u2019s report was that he showed improvements from when he had first arrived, and has a remarkable ability to rider well under pressure.<\/p>\n<p>KZN Cycling Development Officer and BMX Coach, Tyrone Johns mentioned that he was incredibly proud of the young athletes, and thanked all involved for the continued support.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Two of KwaZulu-Natal\u2019s great junior BMX enthusiasts, Manqoba Madida and Dylan Eggar, recently took part in a BMX training camp identifying young talent from around the world, at the UCI World Cycling Centre (WCC) in Switzerland from 10-22 October.
