Photo Credit: Ewald Sadie<\/span><\/p>\nTaking place at the picturesque Wildekrans Wine Estate on Tuesday, 20 December and Wednesday, 21 December between 08:00 \u2013 13:00, XTERRA Warriors will be granted the unique opportunity to test and perfect their multisport prowess in the prelude to the 2017 Fedhealth XTERRA SA Season.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are extremely proud to introduce X-DAY to the XTERRA Community,\u201d says Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports. \u201cUnlike XTERRA, X-DAY won\u2019t be a mass participation event, but rather a more intimate gathering of sporting enthusiasts looking to train at their own pace on a safe, \u2018simulated\u2019 XTERRA course. The \u2018event\u2019 will be self-timed with XTERRA Warriors starting and finishing at their own leisure. We invite all sport enthusiasts to enjoy a day out celebrating the sport of XTERRA at the magnificent Wildekrans Wine Estate.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Stoltz, he participated in his first XTERRA race in 2001 in Richmond, Virginia. \u201cIt was the adventure, technical challenge and cool people that attracted me to the sport,\u201d says Stoltz. \u201cI enjoyed road triathlon and I was relatively good at it, but it was only after I\u2019d discovered XTERRA (ten years after turning pro) that I\u2019d really found my calling. I\u2019d recommend this sport to newcomers because it\u2019s outside in nature, it\u2019s exciting, challenging, well rounded, the people are cool and there are many great places that you can visit to take part in an XTERRA.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI think X-DAY is a fantastic idea,\u201d continues Stoltz. \u201cIt\u2019s basically a training camp that is open to everyone. It\u2019s a great way to learn the tricks of the trade from an old hand. I\u2019m really honoured to be an XTERRA ambassador. I\u2019d like to inspire people of all abilities to \u2018live more\u2019. Loving sport and the outdoors is a very important part of my life, which I\u2019d like to share with my children and hopefully the people I reach as an ambassador.\u201d<\/p>\n
X-DAY will take an off-road \u201crun-bike-run\u201d format. There is no entry fee and registration will take place on the day at the Wildekrans Wine Estate.<\/p>\n
The world\u2019s premier off-road triathlon, XTERRA combines an open water swim, with a challenging mountain bike course and an adrenaline pumping trail run. Each event highlights the true beauty of the area in which it is hosted.<\/p>\n
