As of this morning, Nino and the Spark RC now have an Absa Cape Epic stage win to their name and are wearing the overall leader&#8217;s jersey.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image\" href=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-58780-0-31134400-1490294217.jpg\" data-fileid=\"923883\" data-fileext=\"jpg\" rel=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-fileid=\"923883\" class=\"ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed\" alt=\"ccs-58780-0-31134400-1490294217.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-58780-0-31134400-1490294217.jpg\" title=\"\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikehub.co.za\/features\/_\/gear\/gear-news\/scott-announce-all-new-spark-and-scale-bikes-r5021\" rel=\"external nofollow\">announcement of the Spark RC<\/a> saw a number of changes over the previous Spark. Most noticeably was the geometry which saw the bike becoming longer and the angles slacker. The aim was to make the bike more capable on technical trails without losing any advantage in power efficiency and forward momentum. They use the new SID World Cup and the metric Deluxe shock. Both components are using a new damper that the team are calling Black Box. Despite our best attempts, the team were unwilling to reveal what the Black Box technology might be. The Scott TwinLoc remote system adjusts the fork and shock compression settings.<\/p>\n<p>With SRAM as a naming sponsor, it&#8217;s unsurprising that the team ride their state of the art XX1 Eagle drivetrain. Nino has opted to go with a 36 tooth chainring with a Quarq power meter. Like most pro teams, Scott-SRAM MTB Racing have opted to go with the attention-grabbing gold cassette and chain. The rims have undergone a special Olympic gold medal decal treatment.
