It’s impossible to ignore Eugene Roux’s positive energy. We had hardly said howzit before he excitedly ushered us through his shop to a larger than life Penny Farthing bicycle. Moments later, we were back outside on the road with him effortlessly riding around us in circles. The sparkle in his eyes said it all!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Cycleworx has been servicing local Sedgefield riders and the annual rush of tourists who descend on the coastal town during the festive season since opening its doors 16 years ago, in 2002. A strong cup of coffee and cheeky treat (on this occasion homemade rusks!) is par for the course when popping in for a catch-up.<\/p>\n

Eugene has been riding a bike since he was only 5 years old. What started as a means to get to school, cycling quickly developed into a passion that steered him towards the competitive side of the sport.<\/p>\n

Numerous photos adorn the walls of past Springbok teams, while a few old racing bikes hang from the shop’s ceiling. It wasn’t only Eugene who was bitten by the bug. His son, Haegyn raced throughout his school career, also earning national track cycling colours.<\/p>\n
