As the concept has evolved over the last 10 years so has the event, its formula and visual identity \u2013 not forgetting of course the distinctive logo. The logo may have undergone many iterations over the years but its fundamental essence has remained unchanged.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image\" href=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-31479500-1530707203.jpg\" data-fileid=\"1260770\" data-fileext=\"jpg\" rel=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-fileid=\"1260770\" class=\"ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed\" alt=\"ccs-62657-0-31479500-1530707203.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-31479500-1530707203.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>To coincide with the event\u2019s 10-year birthday celebrations the logo was given a fresh overhaul to commemorate the milestone. While it represents somewhat of a departure from the previous version\u2019s ornate iconography, the new version pays homage to race founder Johan Kriegler\u2019s original idea which comprised a bike cog as its central theme.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe logo I initially drafted in 2009 was a lot different to the one we eventually rolled out,\u201d said Kriegler. \u201cIt featured a bike cog with a whale fin. FNB W2W Race Director, Hendrico Burger, came up with the wine bottle and whale tail silhouette of the previous logo and it stuck.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The new logo\u2019s modern aesthetic adds a sophisticated twist to that of the previous version. Not only does it retain the colour palette of title sponsor FNB, the new logo aims to be re-establish its outlook as South Africa\u2019s favourite MTB trails with a focus on fun, enjoyment, participation, gees, history and the notion that everybody gets a medal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy keeping the same feel and ethos of its predecessor, the new 10-year version of the FNB W2W logo alludes to the race\u2019s newfound contemporary stance,\u201d said Christo Toua, FNB W2W Brand Manager. \u201cIt represents and respects its illustrious history while celebrating the 10-year birthday at the same time, too.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Keen to race the 10th edition of the FNB Wines2Whales?
