{"id":15854,"date":"2018-07-17T13:25:00","date_gmt":"2018-07-17T12:25:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bikehub.co.za\/news\/2018\/07\/17\/moolman-pasio-third-on-a-mountainous-la-course-by-le-tour-de-france-r7435\/"},"modified":"2023-02-08T05:50:07","modified_gmt":"2023-02-08T05:50:07","slug":"moolman-pasio-third-on-a-mountainous-la-course-by-le-tour-de-france-r7435","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bikehub.co.za\/news\/moolman-pasio-third-on-a-mountainous-la-course-by-le-tour-de-france-r7435\/","title":{"rendered":"Moolman-Pasio third on a mountainous La Course by le Tour de France"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Cerv\u00e9lo Bigla Pro Cycling Team won the admiration of many fans by putting on a fine display of racing during La Course by le Tour de France on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<div class=\"w-full aspect-video\">\n<div><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"200\" height=\"113\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/IECvB_Vx1Hw?feature=oembed\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Moolman-Pasio finished third on a mountainous day with Uttrup Ludwig fourth, also earning the best climber\u2019s jersey for a solo attack earlier in the race.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image\" href=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-84731700-1531833990.jpg\" data-fileid=\"1270029\" data-fileext=\"jpg\" rel=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-fileid=\"1270029\" class=\"ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed\" alt=\"ccs-62657-0-84731700-1531833990.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-84731700-1531833990.jpg\" title=\"\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The team\u2019s sprinter Lotta Lepist\u00f6 was the first to go into a 5-rider breakaway that got a sizeable gap. When the move was brought back on the climb, Uttrup Ludwig launched, surpassing what was left of the initial break and going on to lead the race solo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe team executed the plan to perfection. They are tired after the Giro but to put this performance on shows the quality of the group. Two riders on the podium, a lot of TV time for our partners and just making a good advert for women\u2019s cycling in general, we are very happy today,\u201d team manager, Thomas Campana said.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image\" href=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-98361200-1531833988.jpg\" data-fileid=\"1270027\" data-fileext=\"jpg\" rel=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-fileid=\"1270027\" class=\"ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed\" alt=\"ccs-62657-0-98361200-1531833988.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-98361200-1531833988.jpg\" title=\"\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery girl can be proud of that performance today, it was an amazing show from the team,\u201d Moolman-Pasio said. \u201cThat was a courageous attack by Cille and it caught everyone off guard. We\u2019re all happy with the podium and the way we executed the race is getting such a good response. I\u2019m a little disappointed I couldn\u2019t reward the team with a win but for us, it\u2019s all about the development of our athletes and Cille has taken another step up this year and we\u2019ve shown we\u2019re successful in developing brave riders. Maybe we don\u2019t win all the races but we make a show.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The race was made up of 112.5 kilometres featuring mountains, Bluffy, Saint-Jean-de-Sixt, Romme and the Colombi\u00e8re. Uttrup Ludwig made her move on the lower slopes of the Romme.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis has been one of the best days of my life,\u201d the Danish time trial champion said. \u201cThere was so much Danish support out there and I saw banners with my name on it, it felt like a dream leading the race and getting that crowd support. We did so well as a team. Coming from the Giro, we only had one night rest but we got up today and went full gas.
