The fusion of the ratchet and the threaded ring in the Ratchet EXP hub not only increase durability, it also reduces the overall number of components, utilizing a single spring, resulting in a decrease in weight of the freehub system.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"text-2xl font-bold\">More Precision<\/h2>\n<p><a class=\"ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image\" href=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-55589000-1556821786.jpg\" data-fileid=\"1488769\" data-fileext=\"jpg\" rel=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-fileid=\"1488769\" class=\"ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed\" alt=\"ccs-62657-0-55589000-1556821786.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-55589000-1556821786.jpg\" title=\"\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The previous systems required two conical springs which ensured the correct angle between the two ratchets. The fixed connection between the inner ratchet and the hub shell of the RATCHET EXP ensures that the inner ratchet is always aligned at the correct angle. Allowing the use of a single cylindrical spring resulting in a faster full engagement and therefore an increase in reliability.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"text-2xl font-bold\">Superior Reliability<\/h2>\n<p><a class=\"ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image\" href=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-59901000-1556821783.jpg\" data-fileid=\"1488765\" data-fileext=\"jpg\" rel=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-fileid=\"1488765\" class=\"ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed\" alt=\"ccs-62657-0-59901000-1556821783.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.bikehub.co.za\/production\/uploads\/2023\/02\/ccs-62657-0-59901000-1556821783.jpg\" title=\"\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Star Ratchet Systems<\/strong><br \/>The full engagement of the ratchets creates a large contact surface and therefore small point loads, resulting in a superior reliability.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3 Pawl Systems<\/strong><br \/>What makes the Ratchet System hubs superior, is the fact that all teeth on each of the ratchets engage simultaneously every time. In the case of pawl hubs, the engagement surface area is rather small. With the Ratchet System, the whole front face engages, creating much smaller point loads. For optimal performance it is important to maximize this distance, which is limited by the size of the freehub system.
