The small team has been working tirelessly throughout 2022 to pull this display of bicycle history together, and welcome any donations to the running costs and improvements thereof (which can be made via the link). In collaboration with the Franschhoek Motor Museum, we will be organising a Retro Race, from Franschhoek Motor Museum to Trail’s End Bicycle Museum. This race will be retro bike mandatory, meaning that you will have to ride a bike of the downtube shifters era, to compete for bragging rights. It will take the form of several segment chases, with time for a breather in between, while you roll to the next segment. There will be banter, beers and potentially, old cars to provide the refreshments. The finish and prize giving as well as a museum tour, will take place at Trail’s End after the race, where participants can be met by family and friends for the afterparty.
