By Press Office · 308 comments

In partnership with Santa Cruz Bicycles, TokaiMTB is offering the chance to win a Santa Cruz bike from their lineup. As part of a national funding drive, each R150 that you donate to the TokaiMTB trail fund gives you one entry into the draw to win.

The prize

Santa Cruz Bicycles supports similar successful fundraising initiatives around the world, enabling trail crews to realise their plans for trail expansion while fulfilling riders’ dreams.

The winner can choose any frame model and colour from the Santa Cruz range which will be fitted with a standard Santa Cruz build kit by Rush Sports.

For more details and terms and conditions head over to the TokaiMTB website.

Closing time and date for entry will be midnight on Friday 14th July 2017, after which no further entries to the draw will be accepted. The winner will be announced via Bike Hub and TokaiMTB on Monday the 17th July 2017.

More about the TokaiMTB Trail Fund:

TokaiMTB is a constituted representative group and publicly funded non-profit organisation. As one of the founding members of the Table Mountain Mountain Bike forum, our mandate is to assist SANParks with mountain bike activity management in the Table Mountain National Park, with the aim of providing the recreational users a safe and well-managed mountain bike trail facility.

TokaiMTB is in possession of a SANParks issued permit to construct and maintain mountain bike trails within the Table Mountain National Park, as well as host community volunteer programmes in Tokai. In order to continue operations, TokaiMTB relies on donations from both business and the public. Donation drives take the form of innovative fundraisers and offer rewards to individuals who enter and thereby donate to the fund. This helps TokaiMTB offer users full-time representation and trails management and meet the financial needs of this recreational activity.

So you're saying the little box next to each bike model is the build option?

R, S, S+, X01 to XX1+?

Well, if that's the case then i'll opt to pay the difference to the spec i want on it. Not so keen on a 14kg plus bike....or 13kg plus for that matter.

I assume that won't be a problem.

Interesting that there is no further comment from "organisers" to clarify - keep the thread and discussion i.e. marketing going?

No worries with that....gonna be a loooooong month  :whistling:

Deon 'liked' my earlier post, so I take that to mean that he's agreeing with my statement and I can have a Tallboy with XX1.

Hey guys, we will work with the winner on their choice of frame and spec. We have budgeted for a CC frame with a SRAM build kit and Performance Elite suspension. This would cover any of the MTB frames with the appropriate kit. In terms of Stigmata, this would definitely be an option though I would need to look at availability of parts kits to confirm.

If you're feeling lucky / cheeky just drop pics and details in this thread with your ideal frame model / size / colour combo ;)

Pretty much a large anything! I don't care about colour or parts! It will be sad to let my Anthem sx go but i'm sure i'll manage! (I know about N+1 but I only have a queen size bed)

Awesome competition! I'm just curious as to what a "standard Santa Cruz build kit" entails???

Certainly not a sub standard built. It is a Santa Cruz afterall. At worst it will be on par with any great bike from the floor.

Any idea on how much interest the competition is getting? Initially I selfishly didn't want to share but realized that its for the greater good of Tokai MTB that we get as many people entering as possible.

Right, I'm in! Now, will it be a 5010 for her, or a Stigmata for him?

The trick there is to keep going back and buying more entries, stacking the odds in your favour  :D

So my cutoff for the amount of tickets to buy is 413 :whistling:

According to common sense, just bought a ticket now, number 524, so guessing that it goes sequentially up by 1. Thats 524 entries.

So the kity sits at R78k.

Good job baggy boys and girls.

Don't read too much into the order numbers. Entries aren't quite there yet. But there is a steady flow of donations with some very generous donors.

I'd say Rush Sports and Santa Cruz are the most generous donors

BINGO! Some of the work we've done to date on management docs will have a positive spin-off for all SANParks properties. Amarider has been pivotal in these projects.
